The last home match of the season for any sport here at CLHS is always dedicated to the seniors. Most recently the bowling team celebrated senior night honoring five soon to be graduates; Aubryana Wunder, Katherine Pineda, Jocelyn Vasquez-Ortiz, Paige Lyons, and Calia Kennedy. Each of them shared anecdotes of the past and hopes for the future. The celebrations were only enhanced by the Panthers taking home a 4-0 win over Ida Baker for both the boys’ and girls’ team.
Paige Lyons, pictured left, was escorted by her mother and father, her favorite memory from her four years on the bowling team was the girls team going to states in her sophomore year. This was a favorite memory shared by two of the other four year seniors, Katherine Pineda and Jocelyn Vasquez-Ortiz.
Calia Kennedy, who was escorted by her mom, dad, and step-mom plans to spend some time traveling after graduation thanks the coaches and everyone else on the team for creating a welcoming environment that brought about some of the best times of her life.
Aubryanna Wunder is graduating from Cypress with a 3.8 GPA and is looking to continue her educational career in Indiana where she will study morticianary science. Wunder also plans to continue her bowling career in college. Some of words of wisdom left to the underclassmen by Lyons are to never give up, no matter how difficult something may seem.
