Tri-M members after a successful first performance at Golisano
Recently, Cypress Lake High School’s Tri-M Music Honors Society has made great progress in expanding their community outreach.
After a successful previous event at the Edison & Ford Winter Estates during the holiday season, Tri-M took part in another gig earlier this month at Golisano Childrens’ Hospital. Student volunteers from the vocal, band, and strings programs worked collaboratively to put together pieces to showcase at the venue. Tri-M members both performed solo and in multi-department groups to produce enjoyable music and entertainment for all kids and visitors for two hours in the atrium of the hospital.
Student performers included Aniyah Sparks, Delia Smith, Jameson Moore, Samadhi Salazar, and Samantha Santiesteban representing band, Jose Paredescamero and Arco Williams on strings, and Nik Bakos and Lorian Moore with the vocal department.
“My favorite part of playing at the Golisano event was when the children gathered around to watch. It was so nice to see all the kids enjoying music,” said junior Tri-M member and flautist Delia Smith. “I hope to be able to do similar events through Tri-M. I love going to places where people can listen and enjoy music as much as I do!”
Tri-M plans to coordinate two more showings at Golisano in the near future, as well as many other areas in the community. Expect to hear more of Cypress musical talent in your local area soon.
