Each school year, around January, the Panther Theater Company presents a unique show as part of their season. The junior show stands out from the rest, offering material specifically tailored for younger audiences. What really makes the show unique is middle schoolers from Cypress Lake Middle School have the opportunity to audition and work alongside high school students. They come to an audition just like they would a highschooler, and if cast gets to be a part of the rehearsal process. There is a one-night-only performance open to the public, However, The rest of the shows are specially arranged for elementary school students from all over Southwest Florida, who come to Cypress to enjoy the show during their school day. This is what gives the junior show its reputation amongst cast members. It’s a fantastic way to bring together different age groups and create a memorable experience for everyone involved. Students in costume greet the kids on the bus ramp and then walk them to their seats before the show. “They were all super sweet and I hope they come here in the future so they can have the full experience,” said Isabela Oren who played donkey. Make sure you catch the next junior show when the time comes again.
