Last weekend saw five girls from the CLHS girls weightlifting team advance to the regional meet.
Alexa Rosario finished 16th overall in her weight class as an olympic lifter and 17th for traditional. Gianna Santiago finished 15th in her weight class in the olympic category.
Baylee Gaither, a stronger traditional lifter than olympic, finished 14th for traditional and 17th for olympic. Gaby Martinez also finished 14th for her olympic lift.
Team leader Hannah Cowdin, who has had an amazing season, finished in 2nd for her olympic lifts and 3rd for the traditional category. This stellar performance advanced her to the state meet in Lakeland, where she placed fourth in the state in her weight class.
