It is a new year which means new trends are bound to rise. 2024 was the year of leopard print, Adidas Gazelles, off-the-shoulder tops, jorts, Jane Birkin inspired bag decorations, as well as many other fads that took the internet by storm. Take a look at what’s in store for 2025.
1. Deer Print: Last year, leopard print clothing and accessories flooded stores and consumers could not get enough of it. This year, I anticipate deer printed clothing will gain attention throughout the year. It is delicate yet different, as the light brown and white colors are very neutral but can add a unique touch to an outfit.
2. Shoe Charms/Embellishments: I’ve seen this trend catch on slightly throughout the years but I feel that 2025 will be the era of shoe decorations. Adding personal details, like charms or funky shoelaces, onto your shoes will become a sensation this year. It is just one small detail that can elevate any look to fit your individual style.
3. Burnt Orange: Although Pantone already predicted “Mocha Mousse” to be 2025’s color of the year, I foresee burnt orange turning heads within the next few months. Burnt orange is a color that can fit into any season as it is the color of summer sunsets, sweet nectarines, falling autumn leaves, and burning campfires. It is a very beautiful shade of orange that anyone can look good in and I can see it becoming trendy this year.
4. Sparkle/Sequin Everything: If there is one thing that never goes out of style, it is sparkles. Sequined clothing and glitter makeup are going to grab the spotlight soon. Although this trend was seen towards the end of last year, I feel that glittery fashion is going to continue to shine into this year. 2025 is going to be bedazzled with lustrous eye-looks and shimmery skirts.
5. Fringe: As seen in Isabel Marant’s Spring-Summer 2025 fashion show, fringe is making a comeback. I predict that this western hemline is going to find a second wind soon and boho-chic is going to make waves. Fringe was popular in the 1920s, 1960s, and 1970s. Who says it can’t be popular again in the 2020’s?
