April. 1 was an eventful night for the CLHS boys varsity lacrosse team, meant to be a celebration of the seniors turned into a nail biting fight for the win with The Florida Christian Patriots. With a devastating goal late in the 4th quarter the Patriots defeated the Panthers after a hard fought game. Aside from the loss, that Tuesday night was one of celebration. Congratulating four seniors on the boys lacrosse team for their years of dedication to the sport.

Kyler Carter, an attack man who wears number 2 walked the field with his parents and aunt. Kyler has been a Media major and on both varsity golf and lacrosse teams in his time here at CLHS. Post-graduation he will be headed off to the University of Alabama to be a sports photographer. He reminded everyone to, “Be kind and help others.”

Next to walk the field was Justice Hearn, a defense man in number 11, Hearn walked alongside his mother Amy Webster. He has been a member of the Football and Lacrosse teams at Cypress and for his after graduation plans he is choosing between a few offers to play college football. His words of wisdom, “Don’t give up, stay focused, even through tough times.”

Dylan Moore followed soon after Hearn, The number 22 defenseman walked alongside his parents Jenna and Jake Moore. Moore has participated in all three track, football, and lacrosse teams as a Panther. When he graduates, he wants to work his way to playing football at FSU.

Last to take the field, Andres Arenas in his number 23 jersey. The defense man was accompanied by his mom and his stepdad. Only an honorary Panther, due to an non-existent lacrosse program at Cape High, Arenas played Football at Cape as well as managing the basketball team. He left the field with the sentiment, “You only live once, don’t let anything stop you.”
Regardless of the game’s outcome, the CLHS Panthers showed their love for all four of the soon to be graduates. Good luck in all future endeavors to these four gentlemen.
