The Future Educators of America (FEA) is a club at Cypress Lake High School that is more than just aspiring teachers; it is a movement to improve CLHS and the community. Every week members meet in room W162, filled with passion for making a difference in not just education but the school as well. Led by our dedicated History teacher Mrs. Stutz, the club is determined to leave a lasting impact.
FEA engages in a variety of activities but all with the same goal – improving the school and local community. One of their major initiatives is Teacher of the Month. Students nominate a teachers who are making a difference in their lives, then FEA members work together to select and recognize one of the many amazing teachers at Cypress. Last year FEA had one of their most successful years by having 5 teachers of the month honored at their faculty meetings. This year they hope to continue their efforts, and expand with more projects to ensure that every single teacher feels appreciated.
FEA’s main mission is in education. They learn about important teacher skills and qualities from educational leaders. Every week they receive information and new ideas on how to improve the learning environment at CLHS. Initiatives range from introducing teacher shadowing to collaborating with food charities to help our teachers get a snack cart. FEA is not just one idea. It’s a place of big ideas and major success.
Through their dedication, Future Educators of America isn’t just preparing students for careers in teaching; it is also shaping the future of our community. Their actions reflect their belief, shared by all at Cypress, that education and student involvement is the key to building a brighter tomorrow for everyone.
