The Cypress Bowling season has come to an end. While the boys team had a good season, they did not make it to the State competition, placing 8th in districts.
The girls team went undefeated throughout the entire season and placed first in district competition to qualify for states! Mackenzy Stouffer, the girls bowling captain, came in 2nd in the individual competition at districts, bowling 18 strikes in 22 frames during the Baker matches. Stouffer is also the first bowler from Cypress to qualify for states in all 4 years. She ended up placing 9th in the individual competition during states. The girls team ended up placing 13th in the state competition.

Stouffer said of the accomplishment, “From the first frame of freshman year to the final strike of senior season, I’ve rolled with heart, dedication, and unshakable focus. Going undefeated as a team, reaching states together, and achieving my own dreams as an individual proves that hard work, passion, and perseverance can turn every pin into possibility. Four years, countless strikes, endless memories, this is more than bowling; it’s a testament to never giving up on the game, the team, or yourself.”
When asked about the historic season Coach Dusenberry said, “This bowling year was a year of growth and records. We had 24 bowlers on the team, the largest amount ever.” Dusenberry mentioned that he hopes to continue to compete for a district Championship and qualify for State each year. And he is already recruiting for next year, saying, “We are looking for athletes that would like to learn to bowl and compete for a District title yearly.”
