A new team is in town and they are ready to hit the stage. Cypress Lake Cheerleading has introduced a new branch of their program known as Triple C. They are CLHS’ first competitive cheerleading team, made up of both JV and Varsity cheerleaders who are dedicated to the sport. This exciting new addition marks a major milestone for the program, giving cheerleaders the opportunity to take their skills beyond the sidelines and showcase their talent at a higher level. Many members of the squad are balancing game-day cheer responsibilities with competition training, making their dedication even more impressive.
Juniors Trevor Gluski and Lucy Millar have been selected as the first ever captains of Triple C and they are very eager for the upcoming season. “I am so excited to get started with comp season! Creating a routine with Trevor has been so much fun and working with the most amazing team has made this new journey so fun for everyone!” says Millar.
Gluski added, “The competition team opens a new door for the athletes in the cheer program. It pushes everyone to learn new things and progress. It challenges us physically and mentally. Working with the team so far has been so much fun and I am beyond excited for the season.” The job of running Triple C comes with several tasks, such as choreographing the routines that will be showcased at their upcoming competitions. Both captains have backgrounds in competitive cheerleading outside of school so it is safe to say Triple C is going to be in great hands.
The team will make its debut November 1 at the Bobcat Classic, located at North Port High School. There they will spend the day performing against other schools from our region. These cheerleaders are eager to see their hard work pay off. This is the first of many competitions to come.
Students and faculty are encouraged to support the team as they prepare for this exciting new chapter in the CLHS Cheer Program. With a strong start and plenty of enthusiasm, the competition team hopes to set a lasting foundation for future cheerleaders to follow.
